NHDCI offers both an After-School Program and Summer Camp (KidZone!) serving children in grades K-12. Literacy is at the core of both the After-School and Summer Camp programs because research has shown that literacy skills are the foundation for success; all academic achievement is affected by a child's ability to read and comprehend. At NHDCI we support the WHOLE CHILD. NHDCI is integrated into the community, provides life-skills training to improve the viability of the neighbor families and is actively engaged with the families of the children we serve. Our overarching motto which is communicated to our community and children is..."it's your attitude that determines your altitude". Having the right attitude will promulgate a child who craves knowledge and will become a life-longer learner that becomes a self-sustaining adult who gives back to those that are less fortunate.

 

NHDCI has operated an After-School Program and Summer Camp for over 20 years! Many of our students have graduated high school AND college. They come back to NHDCI to volunteer and work as time permits...they give back! Our programs have been designed by certified teachers with Masters' Degrees in Education. WE GET IT RIGHT! Curriculum is delivered using technological devices, as well as traditional methodology, which has proved to be a successful combination for the multicultural clientele we serve.

 

Our bottom line: NHDCI uses varying modes of intentional educational delivery methodology (traditional and technical), in a safe and nurturing learning environment (4.5 acres of fenced-in land), supported by well-educated and committed staff, in a clean and well-supplied facility. We are committed to excellence in education, guiding our students to develop knowledge, character and abilities that will serve the foundation for life-long success.
